About the Artist
A N A is an American abstract expressionist artist with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco majoring in textile design.
Expanding her skills beyond visual arts, she pursued further education in software engineering, focusing on front-end web development and coding in multiple computer languages.
Early in her career, she gained recognition by winning the International Wallpaper Design Competition in New York City.
A N A ’s creative focus lies in producing one-of-a-kind abstract works, exploring the limitless language of expressionism. Each piece is a labor-intensive process, taking anywhere from one week to three months to complete, depending on its size and subject matter. Her technique involves building dense, tactile textures in multiple layers, emphasizing both depth and detail.
Over time, she has developed a signature technique she calls "split stitch"—inspired by embroidery stitches. This distinctive method uses only oil paint and an array of palette knives to create natural, intricate textures directly on canvas.
"As art becomes increasingly digital and shaped by robots and AI, original fine art paintings such as these may one day stand as some of the last works that are truly pure — physically created by real artists through genuine human emotion and imagination."❃

HUMAN EMOTIONS
Feelings of sadness and anger given the turmoil and suffering caused by current leadership and conflicts. It’s important to remain hopeful and advocate for peace, justice, and compassion, as collective efforts and dialogue can lead to positive change, fostering a more peaceful and just society.
" WHAT IS SPLIT STITCH ? "
Ana's signature "Split Stitch" technique—rooted in the aesthetics of embroidery—builds intricate, organic textures directly onto the canvas. Using only oil paint and palette knives, each piece emerges through a slow, deliberate process that can take anywhere from one week to three months to complete, depending on its scale and complexity.
